Drug addiction means taking heroine, opium, marijuana, morphin, cocaine, phensidyl ect. Some of these are taken by smoking or through injection. There are many reasons of drug addiction. Firstly keeping bad company is a major cause of it. Secondly, when young people do not get employment. They become frustrated in life and get addicted. Moreover, lack of family ties, lack of love and affection etc. Are the reasons of drug addiction is very grave. The frequent taking of these drugs lead a man to death. Drug addiction is not only a national but also a global problem.This addiction gives rise to social crimes. When the addicted people feel drowsy, lose appetite and sleep. The skin of their bodies begin to change its colour. Drugs also damages the brain and all internal function of the body. However, this curse should not be allowed to go on unchecked. At any cost we must get rid of this social cancer by highlighting its dangerous effect on human body and society. In Bangladesh the drug problem had become so acute. Thousands of families in cities, towns and even rural areas are directly or indirectly affected by it. 

Recently, Bangladesh is often used by the international drug smugglers as transit of transmission of drug from one country to another. Drug business is punishable and the highest punishment is death sentence in Bangladesh. This law must be enforced immediately. Parents must be careful about their treatment to children. When each and every person is sincere to drive this curse of drug addiction from the society, the human beings can get rid of it.

বাংলা অর্থ: মাদকাসক্তি বলতে হেরোইন, আফিম, গাঁজা, মরফিন, কোকেন, ফেনসিডিল ইত্যাদি গ্রহণ করাকে বুঝায়। এর মধ্যে কিছু ধূমপান বা ইনজেকশনের মাধ্যমে গ্রহণ করা হয়। মাদকাসক্তির অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। প্রথমত, খারাপ সঙ্গ এর একটি প্রধান কারণ। দ্বিতীয়ত, যখন তরুণরা কর্মসংস্থান পায় না। তারা জীবনে হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে এবং আসক্ত হয়ে পড়ে। তাছাড়া, পারিবারিক বন্ধনের অভাব, ভালোবাসা ও স্নেহের অভাব ইত্যাদি মাদকাসক্তির কারণ খুবই গুরুতর। এই মাদকদ্রব্যের ঘন ঘন সেবন একজন মানুষকে মৃত্যুর দিকে ঠেলে দেয়। মাদকাসক্তি কেবল একটি জাতীয় সমস্যা নয়, একটি বিশ্বব্যাপী সমস্যা।

এই আসক্তি সামাজিক অপরাধের জন্ম দেয়। আসক্ত ব্যক্তিরা তন্দ্রাচ্ছন্ন বোধ করে, ক্ষুধা এবং ঘুম হারিয়ে ফেলে। তাদের শরীরের ত্বকের রঙ পরিবর্তন হতে শুরু করে। মাদক মস্তিষ্ক এবং শরীরের সমস্ত অভ্যন্তরীণ কার্যকারিতারও ক্ষতি করে। তবে, এই অভিশাপকে নিয়ন্ত্রণহীনভাবে চলতে দেওয়া উচিত নয়। যেকোনো মূল্যে মানবদেহ এবং সমাজের উপর এর বিপজ্জনক প্রভাব তুলে ধরে আমাদের এই সামাজিক ক্যান্সার থেকে মুক্তি পেতে হবে। বাংলাদেশে মাদক সমস্যা এত তীব্র হয়ে উঠেছে যে। শহর থেকে শুরু করে এমনকি গ্রামাঞ্চলের হাজার হাজার পরিবার প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষভাবে এর দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হচ্ছে।

সম্প্রতি, আন্তর্জাতিক মাদক চোরাকারবারীরা বাংলাদেশকে প্রায়শই এক দেশ থেকে অন্য দেশে মাদক সংক্রমণের ট্রানজিট হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে। মাদক ব্যবসা শাস্তিযোগ্য এবং বাংলাদেশে সর্বোচ্চ শাস্তি মৃত্যুদণ্ড। এই আইন অবিলম্বে কার্যকর করতে হবে। শিশুদের চিকিৎসার বিষয়ে অভিভাবকদের সতর্ক থাকতে হবে। যখন প্রতিটি ব্যক্তি সমাজ থেকে মাদকাসক্তির এই অভিশাপ দূর করার জন্য আন্তরিক হবে, তখনই মানুষ এ থেকে মুক্তি পাবে।

Drug addiction is a serious issue that affects people of all ages, especially young people. Many people try drugs to feel good or to forget their problems. Drugs harm both the body and mind, causing health problems like weakness, weight loss, and memory issues. People who become addicted often lose control over their lives, damaging relationships with family and friends, and many even lose their jobs or drop out of school. A person who uses drugs for intoxication cannot lead a normal life and loses self-control. 

Drugs like ganja, alcohol and heroin are very costly. A person addicted to such drugs often becomes unable to earn an income but still needs money to buy drugs. As a result, they may become involved in criminal activities, such as snatching, robbery, or other illegal acts, to get money. Drug addiction ultimately leads to death. It is also harmful to the economy and the nation. Therefore, everyone should remain alert to avoid drug addiction.

বাংলা অর্থ: মাদকাসক্তি একটি গুরুতর সমস্যা যা সকল বয়সের মানুষকে, বিশেষ করে তরুণদের প্রভাবিত করে। অনেকেই ভালো বোধ করার জন্য বা তাদের সমস্যাগুলি ভুলে যাওয়ার জন্য মাদক গ্রহণ করেন। মাদক শরীর ও মন উভয়েরই ক্ষতি করে, যার ফলে দুর্বলতা, ওজন হ্রাস এবং স্মৃতিশক্তির সমস্যা দেখা দেয়। যারা আসক্ত হন তারা প্রায়শই তাদের জীবনের উপর নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে ফেলেন, পরিবার এবং বন্ধুদের সাথে সম্পর্ক নষ্ট করেন এবং অনেকে এমনকি চাকরি হারান বা স্কুল ছেড়ে দেন। নেশার জন্য মাদক গ্রহণকারী ব্যক্তি স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাপন করতে পারেন না এবং আত্মনিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে ফেলেন।
