Street Accident is a daily affair in Bangladesh. Street accidents generally take place on the busy roads. There are many causes of Street accidents. Roadside defects excessive speed, dangerous overtaking, reckless driving and disobeying of traffic rules are the main reasons of Street accident. Lack of public awareness is also responsible for accident. Very often people try to cross the road without following traffic signs and rules. As a result they are run over by vehicles. The reckless and unskilled drivers are responsible for this.Street accidents have dreaful effects in our life. Every year thousands of people lose their lives and many more are injured in Street accident. We must take some steps in order to get rid of this national problem. Traffic rules must be enforced strictly. The reckless drivers must be given exemplary punishment. Besides, construction of spacious roads, double way road will minimize the problem. Non-motorized vehicles must not ply on the highways. And people must be conscious while crossing the road.

বাংলা অর্থ: বাংলাদেশে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা একটি নিত্যদিনের ঘটনা। ব্যস্ততম রাস্তায় সাধারণত সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার প্রধান কারণ হলো অতিরিক্ত গতি, বিপজ্জনক ওভারটেকিং, বেপরোয়া গাড়ি চালানো এবং ট্রাফিক নিয়ম অমান্য করা। জনসচেতনতার অভাবও দুর্ঘটনার জন্য দায়ী। প্রায়শই মানুষ ট্রাফিক সাইন এবং নিয়ম না মেনে রাস্তা পার হওয়ার চেষ্টা করে। ফলস্বরূপ তারা যানবাহনের ধাক্কায় পড়ে যায়। এর জন্য বেপরোয়া এবং অদক্ষ চালকরা দায়ী।

সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা আমাদের জীবনে ভয়াবহ প্রভাব ফেলে। প্রতি বছর হাজার হাজার মানুষ সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় প্রাণ হারায় এবং আরও অনেকে আহত হয়। এই জাতীয় সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পেতে আমাদের কিছু পদক্ষেপ নিতে হবে। ট্রাফিক নিয়ম কঠোরভাবে প্রয়োগ করতে হবে। বেপরোয়া চালকদের দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি দিতে হবে। তাছাড়া, প্রশস্ত রাস্তা, দ্বিমুখী রাস্তা নির্মাণ করলে সমস্যা কমবে। মহাসড়কে মোটরবিহীন যানবাহন চলাচল করা উচিত নয়। এবং রাস্তা পারাপারের সময় মানুষকে সচেতন থাকতে হবে।

Last week I witnessed a Street accidents. It happened just before my eyes. I was going to school at 9.00 am when the accident happened. The accident occured on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Kamartek in Narsingdi. The accident occured when two speeding buses collided. A bus was going to Bhairab Another bus was coming to Dhaka from the opposite direction. It was an overloaded bus. At Kamartek the driver tried to cross it. it lost control and collided head on with the other bus. It skided off the road and fell into road side ditch. The passengers of both the buses were the victims of the accident. 

Five men died on the spot and many were seriously injured. The passengers inside the bus raised cry for help. I was terribly shocked at this accident. The traffic rules must be enforced strictly to protect it. The drivers must not drive the vehicles recklessly. Besides, the narrow roads should be broadened. The highways of the country should be turned into two or four lanes. We should raise public awareness to protect it.

বাংলা অর্থ: গত সপ্তাহে আমি একটি সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা দেখেছি। এটি আমার চোখের সামনেই ঘটেছিল। সকাল ৯.০০ টায় আমি স্কুলে যাচ্ছিলাম এবং দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। ঢাকা-সিলেট মহাসড়কে নরসিংদীর কামারটেক এলাকায় দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। দুটি দ্রুতগামী বাসের সংঘর্ষে দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। একটি বাস ভৈরব যাচ্ছিল। বিপরীত দিক থেকে ঢাকায় আসছিল আরেকটি বাস। এটি একটি অতিরিক্ত যাত্রীবাহী বাস ছিল। কামারটেকের চালক এটি অতিক্রম করার চেষ্টা করেন। এটি নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে অন্য বাসের সাথে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে লিপ্ত হয়। এটি রাস্তা থেকে ছিটকে পড়ে রাস্তার পাশের খাদে পড়ে যায়। উভয় বাসের যাত্রীরাই দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হন।

ঘটনাস্থলেই পাঁচজন মারা যান এবং অনেকেই গুরুতর আহত হন। বাসের ভেতরে থাকা যাত্রীরা সাহায্যের জন্য চিৎকার করে ওঠেন। এই দুর্ঘটনায় আমি ভীষণভাবে মর্মাহত। এটি রক্ষা করার জন্য ট্রাফিক নিয়ম কঠোরভাবে প্রয়োগ করতে হবে। চালকদের বেপরোয়াভাবে যানবাহন চালানো উচিত নয়। তাছাড়া, সরু রাস্তাগুলি প্রশস্ত করতে হবে। দেশের মহাসড়কগুলিকে দুই বা চার লেনে রূপান্তর করতে হবে। এটি রক্ষা করার জন্য আমাদের জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করতে হবে।

Street accident means the collision between two vehicles on the road. Street accident is a common incident in Bangladesh. Street accidents generally take place in the busy roads of the cities and in the highways of the country. Street accidents occur for various causes. Reckless driving is the main cause of street accident. Over taking of one vehicle by another is another cause of Street accident. Violation of traffic rules also causes Street accident. The drivers of vehicles do not care for traffic rules. In most cases accident happens when drivers try to overtake the other. They also compete with each other to reach their destination earlier. Overloading in the vehicles is another cause of Street accidents. The drivers fail to control the vehicles for over loading. 

Accidents are caused by poor conditions of roads. Mechanical disorder is also responsible for Street accident. Street accident causes death and injury to people. Many valuable lives are lost in the accidents. Many are injured and they become crippled. Street accidents can be checked by enforcing traffic rules strictly. Any one who will violate traffic rules should be punished. The drivers must be conscious of the safety of the passengers. We can minimize roads accidents by raising public awareness.

বাংলা অর্থ: সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা বলতে বোঝায় রাস্তায় দুটি যানবাহনের সংঘর্ষ। বাংলাদেশে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা একটি সাধারণ ঘটনা। সাধারণত শহরের ব্যস্ততম রাস্তা এবং দেশের মহাসড়কে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। বিভিন্ন কারণে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। বেপরোয়াভাবে গাড়ি চালানো রাস্তা দুর্ঘটনার প্রধান কারণ। একটি গাড়ির অতিরিক্ত চাপ অন্য গাড়িকে চাপিয়ে দেওয়া রাস্তা দুর্ঘটনার আরেকটি কারণ। ট্রাফিক নিয়ম লঙ্ঘনও রাস্তা দুর্ঘটনার কারণ। যানবাহনের চালকরা ট্রাফিক নিয়মের তোয়াক্কা করেন না। বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে যখন চালকরা অন্যটিকে ওভারটেক করার চেষ্টা করেন। তারা তাদের গন্তব্যে আগে পৌঁছানোর জন্য একে অপরের সাথে প্রতিযোগিতাও করে। যানবাহনে অতিরিক্ত লোডিং রাস্তা দুর্ঘটনার আরেকটি কারণ। অতিরিক্ত লোডিংয়ের জন্য চালকরা যানবাহন নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে ব্যর্থ হন।

সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার কারণ হলো রাস্তাঘাটের খারাপ অবস্থা। যান্ত্রিক ত্রুটিও সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার জন্য দায়ী। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় মানুষের মৃত্যু ও আহত হওয়ার ঘটনা ঘটে। দুর্ঘটনায় অনেক মূল্যবান জীবন নষ্ট হয়। অনেকে আহত হয় এবং পঙ্গু হয়ে যায়। কঠোরভাবে ট্রাফিক নিয়ম প্রয়োগ করে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা রোধ করা সম্ভব। যে কেউ ট্রাফিক নিয়ম লঙ্ঘন করবে তাকে শাস্তি দেওয়া উচিত। চালকদের যাত্রীদের নিরাপত্তার বিষয়ে সচেতন হতে হবে। জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির মাধ্যমে আমরা সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা কমাতে পারি।

The roads of our country are also busy. So, street accidents have become quite common in our country. Most often, accidents take place for careless driving. Every day we find the news of many road accidents in the newspaper. It is a very sad news for all the people of our country. And it is also very sad news for accident-affected families. A street accident is an unpleasant and unexpected event causally caused by different vehicles while moving on the streets. Nowadays, it has become a common incident in Bangladesh. 

Every day we find the news of street accidents in the dailies. It is taken place by buses, trucks, rickshaws, taxis, etc. It is increasing day by day. This is a major problem in ours Bangladesh. Thousands of people die every year because of street accidents. Most accidents usually occur in urban areas. There are many reasons for a road accident. The reckless driving of the drivers is the main cause of it. The lack of consciousness of the people is also responsible for increasing street accidents. Most of the drivers are not willing to obey the traffic rules. on the other hand, the passer-by is also busy. Government should take proper steps to reduce street accidents. Also, we should be careful about street accidents.

প্রতিদিন আমরা দৈনিক পত্রিকায় সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার খবর পাই। বাস, ট্রাক, রিকশা, ট্যাক্সি ইত্যাদি দ্বারা এটি ঘটে। এটি দিন দিন বাড়ছে। আমাদের বাংলাদেশে এটি একটি বড় সমস্যা। প্রতি বছর হাজার হাজার মানুষ সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় মারা যায়। বেশিরভাগ দুর্ঘটনা সাধারণত শহরাঞ্চলে ঘটে। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। চালকদের বেপরোয়া গাড়ি চালানোই এর প্রধান কারণ। জনগণের সচেতনতার অভাবও সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা বৃদ্ধির জন্য দায়ী। বেশিরভাগ চালক ট্রাফিক নিয়ম মানতে রাজি নন। অন্যদিকে, পথচারীরাও ব্যস্ত। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা কমাতে সরকারের যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া উচিত। এছাড়াও, সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার বিষয়ে আমাদের সতর্ক থাকা উচিত।
